About Nothern Virginia Kayak

Northern Virginia Kayak is dedicated to the promotion of safe flat water and kayak touring practices. We strive to promote the sport of kayaking through education and outreach.

Currently NVK offers ACA (Americian Canoe Association) training.

ACA Mission:
Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling; stewardship support to help protect paddling environments; and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition, exploration and recreation.
We are also committed to environmental protection and follow the principles of “Leave No Trace”.
We are also working to help promote the sport of Sea Kayaking through community building and participation in local groups. We offer inexpensive introduction classes through local Meetup Groups and clubs.
We also provide TRAK test paddles and run TRAK Descovery days.
